About me

From an early age I helped my father with carpentry and repairs. I was the only kid in my grade school who knew the difference between channel locks and monkey wrenches.

My favorite area of home improvement

When I purchase a property for rehabilitation and flipping, I find properties that, hopefully, only require cosmetic upgrades or minor repairs. Because I want to turn the property quickly, I hire a pro to do a thorough inspection to avoid lengthy and time-consuming major renovations.

If I have to choose a favorite area to improve, it would be light fixtures. They are generally easy to install and a few extra dollars on fixtures can transform a room.

My best home improvement project ever

... was my very first flip. When I first saw the decrepit cabin I said, "No way." My crew and I installed new windows, new roof, new porch and steps, and I rebuilt the fireplace surround and refinished the logs on the inside. I then spray-painted the exterior of the cabin and its shed a deep red. The neighbors loved me and I made my first 6-figure profit in under three months.

The 3 tools I can't live without

Cordless reciprocating saw (saws all), hammer and cordless screwdriver.
