Some people prefer doing things around the house on their own. Instead of contacting a Portland, Oregon concrete company to install a patio, for example, they’ll go out and mix the concrete themselves. If you’re one of those people, here are a few tips. First, make sure to protect yourself when working with concrete by wearing gloves, boots and long sleeves. You can mix concrete in a wheelbarrow with a spade if you’re only dealing with a small amount. All you need to do is mix one part cement, two parts sand and three parts gravel. One you’ve mixed these together, you can add water, a little at a time. However, if you’re not confident you know what you’re doing, or you’re dealing with a complex project, be sure to call a Portland concrete contractor.
