Work Description: Cover our Tudor style home with siding, covering all wood to eliminate future maintenance, fish scales on peaks and under bay window, new gutters, paint on the wood around garage door where they were unable to put siding because the door wouldn't have closed properly.

Work Description: Somerset painted our 3000 sq. foot T-111 sided home that had a bit of warping on our south side wall. The job also included gutter fascia board trimmed with aluminum instead of the wood to provide a more durable painting surface. They also removed an old security spot light and replaced it with one that I supplied.

Work Description: Rick, pays attention to detail and gives you more than one option to tackle a job. I have LP siding which takes a lot of prep work to seal everything up before you paint. Rick came out to look at my house while I was at work and sent me a detailed email with photos explaining my options. He keeps a close eye on the progress and you can call or email him whenever. The guys he has working with him have been with him for years and it shows. Luis painted the outside of my house like it was his own. I had to have some siding replaced and everything was included in the quote and Somerset stayed true to the quote. Also if Somerset doesn't do it themselves you can trust Rick's recommendations. I also had my gutters cleaned and some cement work done on my porch using his recommendations.
Comments: If you are getting quotes and find his may be a little higher, it's worth it, these guys are professionals and honest. Here is a good example; There was some rotten wood on my roof that only could be seen from my neighbors upstairs window. They fixed it where some fly by night company hiring kids for the summer may have overlooked it. Plus I have a colonial with a walk out. They had some high places they needed to get to and alot of siding to fix and paint.Bottom line Somerset does not just slap paint on your wall or outside of your house and call it a day. It's the prep work that makes a difference and they know what they are doing.

Work Description: We had a master bedroom and laundry room painted, in addition to repairs and repainting of a 12 ft angled ceiling in our family room. They removed very old wallpaper in the master bedroom, and patched a large hole in the laundry room wall.
Comments: We had a very positive experience with Somerset. Rick called back within a few hours of my initial call, and scheduled an on-site estimate within 24 hrs. The estimate was reasonable given the amount of prep work needed, including stripping very old wallpaper. He also worked to fit us in to meet our need to get the painting done in July. The painters were very prompt and professional. They worked hard each day, seemed to enjoy what they were doing and worked together very well as a team. They cleaned up well at the end of each day, so the impact on our daily lives was minimized. The job took 3 days, mostly due to significant effort needed to remove the wallpaper in the master bedroom. This was not anticipated in the original estimate, but Rick honored the original quote and did not charge us for this extra time. When we noted a couple of missed trim spots after the job was done, Rick came out the same day and completed the work himself. I highly recommend Somerset and will definitely use them again on other jobs. They overdelivered and are very customer oriented.

Work Description: Painted the exterior including wood siding, trim, soffits, garage door. Repaired minor water/mildew damage to wood around chimney and on part of the siding, and fixed rust on/under garage door. At no additional cost, they fixed loose gutters, nails, screws and siding, and caulked in numerous places where the builder had never even bothered to caulk. Painted one bathroom.
Comments: The owner is very conscientious about doing the job as you want it done. He goes over all of your concerns very thorougly prior to beginning. They worked in the cold and the rain so they could get the job done for me before the weather became too cold for the paint to "stick". They did little extras at no cost like powerwashing spilled paint (from the previous painters) off the porch and scraping it off windows (also from the previous painters). They removed a basketball goal from our garage at no cost and put up our new house numbers for me. Everything looked perfect when they were done. I swear they must have used a ruler and a level to put up the house numbers, they are so even! The bathroom paint had a problem because of some strange splatter on the wall from the previous owners. When we realized the sanding and painting didn't remove/cover the splatter, the owner researched how best to hide the problem and then came back himself to fix it. It looks fine now. He also came back to thoroughly inspect the entire job and make sure I was satisfied. Sommerset's prices are comprobable to other similarly skilled painters who gave me quotes, but I felt Sommerset was more thorough and just felt most comfortable with their company and employees. They are more expensive then lesser skilled painters, but I learned the hard way you get what you pay for. I wish I had hired Sommerset to do the previous interior paint jobs.-
