Work Description: Kitchen Renovation
Comments: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BRUCE FROM SAMUELS CONSTRUCTION!State Farm stated that their estimate was enough to pay for the water damage. I made a complaint to the Department of Insurance and they STILL did not pay more than this amount. You repeatedly stated that you would not charge me more than what State Farm would pay. Now you are going back on your word. As I mentioned many times before, the scratches on the vinyl was NOT caused by me because I did not move any boxes since they were too heavy for me to carry. It was caused by YOUR flooring contractor. On 3/11/21, you EVEN stated that you would hire the flooring company at your expense to repair my vinyl floor. Now you are going back on YOUR word...again. Lowering the sink-side base cabinet was NOT extra work because it was previously built to the same height as the stove-side base cabinet before the water damage occurred. You built the sink-side cabinet too high so it is part of YOUR job to correct this mistake and lower it WITHOUT charging me extra for it. My backsplash no longer fit because YOU built the sink-side cabinet TOO high. I should NOT be the ONE to pay for YOUR mistake. If my backsplash broke during the demolition process then it is YOUR responsibility to make a claim to YOUR liability insurance because YOU broke it. My insurance company or I should NOT be responsible for paying for something YOU broke. That is the reason why YOU have liability insurance. You probably you would rather pay the judgment in civil court to avoid having an increase in your liability insurance premium, hence your refusal to make a claim against your insurance. I saw the photos that you claimed Servpro provided you and it does not substantiate ANYTHING you are claiming. They are just photos of my old cabinet, which shows nothing. You owe me $9900 for damaging my backsplash so I do not owe you for the stained cabinets. On 3/11/21, you stated "I file a Mechanics Lien against your Condo." You are an unethical person for refusing to fix my backsplashes and countertops, refusing to fix my floors, refusing to fix my blinds, for holding my cabinet doors and faces ransoms for SO long, and for charging me more than what my insurance paid even though you PROMISED you would not do that. If I hired another contractor from the beginning, I would have had a functional kitchen much sooner and not be in this legal mess that you started. I wish Servpro NEVER referred you to me. I should have known better than to trust you and do business with you. I am a single mother and I have a limited income. All I wanted was to have a working kitchen so I can cook food for my daughter. My daughter has been so sad that we don't have a working kitchen and you made our situation worse, you set us back, you wasted my time, all for your own selfish gain. I am disappointed that you took advantage of me, all for money. I don't know how you sleep at night. You should be ashamed of yourself. Karma will catch up to you eventually.
I hired Bruce in December 2020 and still do not have a functional kitchen in 2021. He has dishonestly made his estimates too high to get more money from me. Bruce made a promise that I will not pay more than what my insurance paid but he charged me more anyway. His flooring subcontractors scratched the floors that were installed and broke my window blinds and refused to take responsibility for it. He overcharged for the floors, a cabinet, cabinet staining. He isn't taking responsibility for breaking my backsplash above the new sink-side cabinet that he built. He charged me for removing my backsplash that he broke. He told me that he was going to lie to my State Farm saying it broke on accident to cover up his mistake so that it can get paid for by my insurance. He purposefully took it off my wall and broke it in half. This new cabinet was incorrectly built higher than my existing cabinet, on the opposite of my kitchen. Since the broken backsplash is the same material as the countertops, it will cost me almost $10K to replace it! He refuses to file a claim with his liability insurance probably because he doesn't want his premium to go up, at the expense of my wallet! He refused to return my kitchen cabinet doors and drawer faces, holding them ransom for many months, he threatened me unless I pay him more money on his change orders that I never signed nor pricing that I never agreed to.

Work Description: He gutted the house I owned before this one and remodeled it. He installed the tiling for the bathrooms and kitchen.
Comments: He is the best contractor I know and I wouldn't use anybody else. He is reliable. I don't care about pricing because I care about quality!-
