Work Description: Driveway and porch
Comments: 3 Star overallI give them a 5-star rating for the Driveway, they did a great job on the driveway. 5 stars also for the sidewalk, I couldn’t have asked for better work there either.
I give a 1 star rating for the front porch and the walkway leading up to the porch.
As you can see the porch is not level with the front of the house. I was told that this “sloping” was done intentionally to stop water from accumulating on the porch.
I was told that the walkway leading up to the front porch was intentionally sloped in the opposite direction for water drainage also.
The work was done on June 1st 2017, On June 3rd I contacted S & G concrete about the un-even porch and walkway, I also sent pictures. I was called back June 13th and was told that they would be out by the end of July to correct the walkway. During this phone call I was told that the front porch was fine and did not need to be level with the house. On July 29th I called S&G Concrete for an update, I was told they would be out by the end of August to correct the walkway.
The date is September 21st 2017, S & G never came back to correct this.
I have been in contact with half a dozen cement workers on a recent job site. I showed them the pictures, After some investigation, I’m told you slope porches from the house to the road to avoid the not-level look. It is not a good practice to slope parallel to the house for aesthetic reasons.
Again I will state that the driveway and sidewalk in front of the house was excellent work.
