Work Description: Master bathroom shower renovation.
Comments: Hired David to save us from a bad renovation from another contractor. David created a custom tile shower with a half wall and glassed in. Work was excellent and done on time.We were happy with our Bathroom shower, so we hired them again to replace our front porch lattice with a modern wood slat skirting. Cant tell you how many people in the neighborhood stop and tell us how good it looks.

Comments: I had the horrible experience of working with David Franklin of RVA Custom Home Rennovations. For what needed to be done, him and i agreed on $7000 grand total for everything done. On a Wednsday I gave him a cash downpayment of $4000 to begin the work. David chose to delay the start, beginning work on Monday though he had already gotten paid. Later that same week he requested an additional $4000 because he claims the inspector did not entail everything that needed to be fixed in order to get the home ready to sell. So there was more work to be done than we previously agreed on - I never saw a list of the extra work to be done that the inspector "missed" A week later we met on june 4th and i gave him the remaining balance of $3000. All monies at this point where given to David in cash payment because he requested cash in exchange for a discount. At this point I assumed I was fully paid up with David and did not owe any balance with him. About 2 days after I gave him the final $3000 he sent me a text stating that I owe him $2400 claiming it was for the installation of the hot water heater and removal of debris. This final amount was paid as a check. The communcation was awful ,b sure to get an itemzied statement of everything needed before you give a downpayment and never given this company cash. When the buyer and inspector did a final walk through, they noted there were several items on the list that where not completed including leaving the old hot water heater. What did the extra $2400 go to? My question as well.Fort Lauderdale FL

Comments: Extremely unsatisfied with the work that was done and way I was treated during such work.Price quote was extremely inflated above agreed upon price with no additional communication prior to invoice for payment. Multiple items on invoice were extremely inflated and prices do not match market equivalent.
A pile of construction material and trash was left in yard after completing project. This killed a portion of grass. It also was left in an area easily accessible to pets and children.
I will never use or recommend RVA custom home renovations to anyone I know.

Work Description: David Franklin has a $500.00 deposit for a job never undertaken. I have always treated him with respect and was very understanding of a personal problem (his) causing some delay. It is getting close to a year and he has made it obvious he has no intention of returning my money. It is sad : this is not the honest man I thought I knew. Be careful if you deal with him. He has taken a very vindictive attitude towards me for simply trying to resolve this issue. Pam
