Work Description: Remodel for disabled person
Comments: BEWARE hire at your own risk.• Bottom of front door jam raw stucco
• Threshold at front door loose.
• Door painted with cheap whit paint 1 coat, according to contract this should have been my choice of paint or color. And 2 coats of high premium paint. Painting was done without my request or consent.
• Peep hole in front door, safety issue for me. I had a large window in previous door and could see who I was answering door to.
• Door bell installed, John said he would install.
• Roof on front porch not secured to keep rodents out.
• Broken ball globe that was hanging on front porch
• Broken old man statue figurine on front porch and missing 2 figurines of this set? Also missing a garden gnome figurine.
• Broken wolf globe Mike knocked off shelf.
• Garden border in front yard not put back in place, when they moved plants they ripped the roots out of the ground and dumped planters on ground, this killed 3 plants. 1 rose bush, 2 vines.
• Address sign on side of mailbox was ripped off it had 3 zip ties attached securely, this has been broken and sloppily put back in place killing another of my plants.
• TV Cable wire tie down on roof removed when they were working and not replaced.
• Vents for AC inside, all rooms, are in terrible condition they were not properly cleaned or put back in professional manor.
• Air conditioner has been placed on top of my main water drain for my house I have no access. This was brought to the attention of the laborer while it was being installed and to the owner Xavies and the inspector from the city.
• John and Mike left my front door of my house open for 2-3 weeks straight while working inside bathroom. My air conditioner was on constantly. I’m frightened to see what my electric bill will be next month. Who pay’s for this?
• Bathroom door is made and has natural wood color; this was painted over with cheap white only 1 coat. Looks very bad. I did not ask or request this to be painted. John has destroyed this door and needs to replace it with new like door that was there.
• There is mud; putty substance all over door and hinges on inside at entry looks terrible.
• There is no threshold at all between bathroom and hallway.
• They did not install toilet paper holder or robe hook. The towel bars that were installed are not in requested places.
• The shower curtain is not correctly aligned and installed it is on outside of shower base.
• Shower head bar not caulked part around tiled not secure.
• Shower window not properly frosted, John used some cheap frost paint, which is peeling off window and not code compliant, privacy issue?
• Window sil is inverted into the window and retains water. Does not run off. Mold issue?
• Grey grout is all over the window frame. Not cleaned right.
• John selected the wrong type of vanity and installed it. This has not been installed correctly. Not caulked in back or side or set right. I am not sure if this vanity should be here it has lip keeping side and back from being flush to wall.
• He did ask me for my choice of selection and disregarded all of my request, vanity, mirror, towel bars, and hand held shower. I did go to home depot text my likes for all, no response.
• No hand held shower head supplied only the one which came with package, this is not the kind he removed, which was a hand held and said he would replace hand held, this was not provided to me so I bought one at Wal-Mart cost $39.29. I have receipt. Will I be reimbursed?
• No Hot water in shower only gets warm, faucet does not turn completely on, No shower water pressure.
• Most Unprofessional tile job in shower I have ever seen. The Grout is separating and receding from the tile.
• Vanity, mirror and light over sink are not aligned, again very sloppy work, and to think I was misled and told they were professional. Imagine my disappointment.
• Trash and debris left all over yard and in house.
• In contract it states quote: Replace all window and doors with double pane insulated impact resistant. Aloow $50 for the entry locks and $50 for deadbolt locks. Caulk, prime and apply two coats of high-quality semi-gloss acrylic paint on door, jam and casing. Owner to select lockset finish and paint color. None of this was done according to contract except double pane windows.
• It has been brought to my attention that the insulation in attic is not code compliant and when I signed up I was told if any situation arises of this concern it would be considered for repair.
I have made numerous complaints re: this contractor John Schaeffer Restoration Visions. I have spoke with Jean Le Chance about concerns of time job started and stopped, There has been multiple issues I have reported to Jean, he has not been much help, he seems to side with John Schaeffer. The last communication I had with Jean, we had a meeting scheduled for Wed May 10 2023 at 9:30 am, he showed up very unexpected on the evening before, on the 9th and I was not prepared for this, when informing him of my situation again he seemed to agree of some of my issues, but also seemed to laugh at others, stating it is a he said she said and I would just have to live with it, re: missing items I have reported, or my plants which were killed he told me that’s just construction. Also stated I am getting this money for free to just be happy. I was very insulted by this. I am a person with disabilities, I have a medical condition of Anxiety, Which has been an issue brought on due to disrespect by John Schaeffer and Jean Le Chance. I am taking this serious and they don’t seem to be. I have tried my best to communicate with John Schaeffer and Jean Le Chance, but John does not communicate at all with his client Me, and Jean does not seem to be concerned with my complaint and has disrespected me as well making fun of my situation. Just because I have asked for help from the city due to low income and disabilities, this does not make me a lesser person than anyone, and should not be mad fun of.
I do not feel this contract I signed has been completed to the terms written.
I would like to have a different contractor to finish this job due to the disrespect and damage to properties. John Schaeffer Restoration Visions have created.
I cannot jeopardize my health and have another breakdown.

Comments: Mr. John Schaeffer / Restoration Visions Inc. was very pleasant to work with and punctual (called me before arriving and called if he was not able to be there in time). He is an HONEST AND RELIABLE handyman. I plan to use him for any and all future home repair needs.-Tammy F.
