Jack Pennington began cultivating his construction and roofing experience as a teenager after Hurricane Betsy. The day after the storm he volunteered to help neighbors put tarps on their roofs to protect them from further damage. Over the next few months, he and his dad went on to replace the roofs on several of their neighbors' homes. Jack also installed metal roofs that were blown off many of the garages in the area. Jack worked after school as an A/C service man, and was able to save many refrigerators and window units submerged in the hurricane.

Jack joined the army in 1967 and he was sent to Vietnam soon after. He was discharged in 1971, and he then attended Delgado Community College while working in construction to support his family. After graduation, Jack started completing small projects in the residential, commercial and industrial fields. He ultimately wound up working on larger projects such as the Louisiana Offshore Oil Port main terminal, the first phase of the Convention Center and the 1984 World's Fair. In the 90s Jack built the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office Special Operations Complex, and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office Small Animal Shelter. Jack worked extensively from 2000 to 2002 repairing the damage to roofs caused by a severe hailstorm in January of 2000.
Jack has two sons, Jack Jr. and Cameron, two daughters, Brittney and Megan, a son-in-law, Chris, and 6 grandchildren. He enjoys hunting, fishing, archery and shooting in his free time.
