Work Description: Replace A/C System in My Rental
Comments: This owner, Joe and his company are the most ludicrous and ridiculous excuse of an HVAC Co. My Property Mgr./Landlord agreed to his estimate before Memorial Day, 2023. He asked for 60% down, they gave credit card. He did not do within the approval timeframe, so asked for a check to be sent. First mistake-Joe. My Landlord lives in Europe, by time a check was sent was almost 2 weeks later, check bounces, so ok, Second mistake-landlord. Joe freaks out, then requests another check sent for the full amount 16K upfront!! Another 2 weeks go by, new check comes and finally clears bank. 16K checked cleared June 23, 2023 and it is now July 26, 2023 and I'm still waiting for this asshole to show up!!!! He's been sitting on 16K for an entire month and lies and lies and says he will be coming, etc., etc. He's a disgusting human being, his company is a disgusting company and he should be in jail for stealing $16,000 and not doing ANY work. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND HE'S NOT EVEN LICENSED IN PUTNAM COUNTY!Wilton CT

Comments: Joe lied about getting a permit for the HVAC system he installed. I found out months later when I called him multiple times and he completely avoided my calls. Comments: I really can't say enough about the work that Joe and his crew did for me. when my boiler wouldn't work any more not only did McCools called me at 11pm there was a tech at my house on Saturday and put in my new boiler by monday morning. they worked their butts off. Comments: As soon as I put my info about my problem..I heard from joe at mccools and he told me I'll send a tech out to see about the boiler in the morning. The tech was very nice and very patient with my questions and concerns that I had. They diagnosed the problem within 15 minutes . I knew I needed a boiler and they gave me a great price on a brand new system.I loved that they are curtious and very professional. Work Description: Drain R-22 Freon and remove old Goodman compressor, copper lines and air handler, replace with new High Seer Variable American Standard Compressor and Handler with new copper lines and low voltage wiring, purge air from new Copper lines, check for leaks and load 410A Freon. McCool's personnel made a mission impossible, possible. The new handler would not fit through existing attic stairway opening. The living room intake covers were removed and the opening was widened to accommodate the size of the air handler which was lifted into position and installed in the attic. A new Honeywell 20 x 20 filter was installed between the handler and intake duct.
Comments: Installation was pretty smooth, a minor cutoff switch on the handler had to be adjusted in order to fire up the system.The price for the entire system was exceptionally low compared to higher appraisals for inferior hardware with lower Seer rates. The quality of work for the installation was exceptional. I would highly recommend McCool's to anyone who is looking for quality installation, exceptional hardware and a kick-ass price. I am a very cool happy camper.

Comments: I had an extensive AC project including zone dampers, full replacement of all existing AC components and installation of wifi thermostats. Joe and his crew did an amazing job, they were great at communicating the different options and honest about the value/cost of each option. I interviewed 3 different companies and McCool's combination of reasonable price, technical know-how and honest assessment blew the other two away.
