Work Description: Remove five (5) old light dimmer switches and install new ones; and remove two (2) fan coil thermostats and install new ones.

Comments: Admittedly, I took a risk engaging an electrician via information gathered from the Internet, but the risk turned out to be worth it!

My initial contact with someone at J.A.J. Lighting & Power was with Jason, who is also the person who came to do the work in my one-bedroom condominium apartment in Arlington, Virginia.

Apparently, J.A.J. Lighting & Power is a fairly new group of electricians (I believe their website indicates they have been in business about seven years), and is sponsored by one primary licensed and bonded electrician who has a couple of unlicensed, perhaps apprentice-type electricians working with/for him. Based on my experience this past Monday, February 4, 2013, if the other electrician/s working with J.A.J. Lighting & Power are comparable in quality to the excellent representation Jason offered, then J.A.J. Lighting & Power is likely headed to be a VERY successful small business in Northern Virginia!! They don't have a commercially marked vehicle, nor could I track down much information on the primary licensed electrician, but I was pleasantly surprised by the completely professional, as well as personable manner in which Jason conversed with me over the telephone, patiently giving me as much specific information as he could regarding answers to my questions. On top of that, he quoted me the best price for the work I was looking to have completed, and was able to fit me into his schedule the next day!!

Jason was delayed an hour or so in arriving, but courteously called ahead to let me know he would be late, and to let me know approximately how long it might be before he arrived.

Upon arriving, he immediately began working, and in a matter of minutes (perhaps a total of 15) he had removed four of the five old dimmers (I had removed one prior to his arrival) and installed all five of the new ones! Then he began to remove the old thermostats, only to discover the ones I purchased ahead of his arrival were not compatible with the wiring configuration in my apartment. He immediately contacted the manufacturer by phone to see if there was a work-around. There was none immediately available, so I contacted our building staff to see if they had some compatible thermostats on hand and, fortunately, they did. Jason had no difficulty installing the new units and was never disgruntled nor impatient at the slight inconvenience incurred.

If I ever need future assistance with electrical projects again, I certainly want Jason to be the person who comes to help me!!

Highly recommended!!
