Description: I worked for Bradleys Dept stores as a foreman running a large crew. We had a timeline for the store openings which made some days very long. Bradley's ended up downsizing which led me to the same job but for Stop and Shop. They soon began downsizing as well. I started working on the "Big Dig" at the airport but the elements were getting to me. It wasn't a hard decision to move to a warmer climate. I moved to Florida in 2000, got a job as a subcontractor for a guy who dealt with custom home builders. I wanted to learn the ropes about Florida before going solo. I worked a week for this guy and he gave me $1.00 raise after he realized my potential. After 2 yrs working for him, with raise after raise, he made me his right hand man. It was real hard to leave him, but I knew I could make so much more on my own. Being on my on for the past few years, I've built up a clientele and have based my business not only on referrals but through my custom van that is the best form of advertising for me. I am now getting a reputation around town as" the guy who knows what he is doing". I plan on doubling my income and clientele by referrals. Word of mouth is the key to business.
