Comments: Dustmen Electric came out to replace a transformer. I would advise a potential customer to get several job pricing quotes just to be sure the "just to come out cost" is to your liking.
Our service call is in line with other electricians in the area. We informed you of the service call fee but with the additional cost of the transformer, that increased the cost of the visit, which we also advised at the time of scheduling. You mentioned that you were advised of a range for our service call, but we only have a set minimum service call fee, not a range, so I can only assume you misunderstood Colton when he informed you of the fee. We also gave a senior discount to help you with the additional cost. We are here in the future if you need anything, and if you do get additional quotes, I think you will find that we are very competitive in the industry.

Work Description: replace the ballast in an overhead light.

Comments: The workman was punctual, courteous and professional. I cannot say enough about him. BUT.... the person with whom I spoke when scheduling the work suspected that it was a ballast, and it seems that as such, there should been one on the truck. The cost? I nearly fainted at $180 for a job that took less than 1 hour, including a trip to Home Depot to purchase the ballast. That is nothing short of highway robbery. I understand that electricians are in demand, but we are senior citizens, and on a fixed income. This was taking advantage of people who had no other option.

We were happy to get to your home to complete the job within a day of your calling to request the work after hearing from you about how hard it was to even get an electrician to call you back about doing the work. There are hundreds of different styles of ballasts and there is no way for us to know ahead of time what type was needed for your lamp. In no way are we trying to take advantage of anyone, just trying to provide the best work that we can for our customers. Comments: Came to fix my post light in front of my house. I was charged the money and paid, a week later the light no longer works. I have called, left messages to explain that the light no longer works. I have not received a return phone call from them.

Comments: you have no idea how much they charge till the end. Not recommended as First when you ask an estimate they start with less and suddenly by the end everything goes up.

This is Donald, the Owner of Dustmen Electric. We are sorry to hear that the customer was not happy with the total cost of the project. Unfortunately, It is out of our control when unknown problems have to be addressed as we move through a project. During any type of contracting work, certain issues are not known until you really get into the work. We are very fair and charged appropriately. Nothing was done maliciously and there was no over charging. The hourly, the parts cost and the initial cost of showing is competitive and reasonable. For the most part, we are below average on billing than most contractors. We will be more than happy to help this customer out in the future if they need us. English was not their first language, and possibly they did not understand everything as we explained it to them. Our reputation and reviews speak for themselves.
