During rainstorms, these surfaces generate additional water runoff, which contributes to erosion and carries harmful pollutants into some of our drinking water sources. In order to avoid this, we have been able to create hardscapes that use permeable pavers – a stone that promotes the proper percolation of surface water to the ground. This allows the water to return naturally to its source or to a rain water collection area that can be used for watering or irrigation.
