Description: Howard Reed has three decades of experience building, renovating, and maintaining homes in Connecticut. In 1979, he founded the residential painting contractor Westwood Painting Company. Within a few years, Westwood Painting became the go-to painting contractor for many high-end residential homebuilders as well as homeowners throughout Fairfield County. The company soon expanded its services to include home maintenance and carpentry repairs, including custom trim work, hardwood flooring, and finished basements. Over the course of 20 years, Westwood Painting cemented a reputation as a leader in home services, with hundreds of pleased customers throughout southern Connecticut.

In 1997, Howard put his expertise to work as a site supervisor, overseeing the construction of 60 homes for Summit Residential at Great Oak Farm in Monroe, CT. He then moved into management, first joining the nationally renowned Toll Brothers as construction manager for a development in Danbury, then continuing as a manager for several other custom home developers. In 2002, he joined Painting & Decorating in New Britain as their project manager, where he coordinated and estimated both commercial and residential projects throughout the state, including renovations at Yale University and Foxwoods Casino.

Over the last ten years, the construction industry has evolved markedly. Concerns about the impact of building procedures and materials on the environment have changed the way the industry operates. Contractors must consider their materials and methods at every stage of the process. If they don't, not only are they putting the environment at stake -- they're also missing an opportunity to save their customers a lot of money.

With this win-win situation in mind -- the fact that homeowners can reduce their carbon footprint while simultaneously saving money -- Howard founded DoItGreen Home Services in late 2009. He received training in sustainable construction practices at Green Irene and is now a certified Eco-Consultant in the Connecticut area. DoItGreen is a full-service general contracting company that uses sustainable practices and also provides eco-friendly home improvement products and services. In addition to general contracting, we offer environmental consultations and makeovers for your home or office. Howard's goal is to save you money on energy consumption while doing some environmental good in the process. And most importantly, he is committed to providing quality reliable service that can only come from decades of experience.
