Work Description: Heating system
Comments: I needed a new heating system and was going thru a rough time financially. So I called Adam who said I could order the heating system and he would install it for me for $2500. When he came he seemed to be a nice honest man and I was happy to save some money. He came the first day then did not come for the next 2. I had to keep on calling him and he would not even bother to get back to me. Finally he came back and after another day of work, he said to me the heating system was good but that it was not working because all the electrical part of the heating system was bad and needed to be redone. Part of the system was on mu second floor ( in the attic) and the other part was outside, close to the house, which meant he said that he had to change all the electrical wires from the attic all the way down to the unit outside. Adam told me that it would be another $1600. I was shocked as I had never had anything like that happen to my heating system and I was in the house like 25 years. I should have told him to leave but I did not think I would find another company to finish his job and I needed the heat, so I had no other choice to agree on that extra $1600 expense. At the end of the first day of electrical work, he said he needed another part that he had not seen and that it would be another $250. No need to say that I was very leery of this man by now and I ask him to show me the part. When he left, I went on my computer and check for the price of the part and unbelievably it was $25 and after asking me a lot more money, this man was still trying to steal from me. When he came in the morning to finish the job, I told him what I found out and he was somewhat apologetic and said he would returned me $200 but did not have it with him but would drop it to me during the week. Shocking……he never returned me the $200, even though I left him many messages. The worse part of all is that a few months later whe I needed my heating unit to be checked, the new company( of course I never would call Adam again), they told me that I was lucky that my house did not go on fire as the whole electric system was a joke and not conform at all. I had to call an electrician and redo the whole electrical part. This whole incident with Cowel happened a while ago but did not dare to write this review till I sold my house. This company has nearly all FIVE STARS as reviews. Do not believe it for one second. Adam was extremely dishonest and will make up anything to try to get more and more money because he knows that a person do not have a choice once he started the job. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS COMPANY ….I ONLY HAD HEARTACHES WITH IT.Kissimmee FL

Adam came day after Christmas and replaced all the inside 'guts' of the toilet. after he left, there was a new leak from the tank. what impressed me was that he came back with a helper the day i called to say that there was a new problem.. it took them an hour to repair the new problem, and now it's working fine. So what really impressed me is that he came back to fix it again, knowing that he wasn't going to get paid again for the second visit. that's how you get recommendations!

Work Description: Identifying cause of leakage in shower head. We had another local plumber come to the house twice, who tried to fix the leak, but whatever was done did not work. That plumber told us that because the shower was so old it was difficult to find replacement parts. He just happened to have some older fixtures that he was able use parts of them. We were also told that we faced having to redo the shower entirely. Our concerns were hightened when his jobs did not seem to work.
Comments: There was no estimate submitted, Just a telephone call from them. We thought that they were from Setauket but we were informed that they "serviced" the Setauket area.The other three companies submitted to us never made contact.
Had difficulty finding info. about Cowel Plumbing, as the web site info. that was furnished was for another company, we were told that they were affiliated with another company and that your web-site may have had the wrong info, to contact them.
1st visit - requested $100. to buy supplies needed to fix leak. Left to go and buy new innards for the water faucets. Two man job?
Next day called at about 11:00 am to say that they would arrive cerca noon, arrived closer to 4:00 pm. 2nd visit - forced full blowing of water pressure, reported junk in the pipes that may have caused the leaking. there was no sign of stains from a leak within the inner behind the tiles.
Installed new seat and innards.
Cost an additonal $200. ($300. total).
We wondered if the $300. could have been less if one person arrived to do the job?
We were told that if the new settings did not work that they would have to come back and break through the tiles to get to the inner pipe.
To date, the leaking has stopped. They both were very pleasant and did a nice job.
We would have them back in the future prepared with a listing of questions that they would have to answer before proceeding to do any work. They taught us a good lesson.
