Work Description: Jimmie was to remove the old driveway and put in the new one. He gave me a price to do the job. After he removed the old driveway he charged me $800 extra to put down gravel which should have been included in his original price if need be.

I am sorry that customer was unsatisfied with the work my company performed. First let me say that we discussed removing an existing driveway and replacing with new driveway. I asked the customer if there was gravel under driveway and he said he did not know. So when the estimate was initially written up it didn't include gravel due not wanting to charge customer for gravel if he already had it. But upon removal of the driveway we discovered that there was not a sub-base, only wet mud. I gave the customer options on what he could do. He could pour the cement on the wet mud giving him a greater chance of cracking or he could put down a sub-base of gravel. He agreed to gravel, with no complaint. I only charged customer for the price of the delivery and price of the gravel. I absorbed the labor charge myself. So far as the stamping of the apron and front stoop I sealed both areas and advised customer that it was prudent that he would have to reseal. At the time the job was completed the customer did not voice any concerns and I was paid in full. Job was completed in early January 2013 and a lot can happen. There may have been a chemical accident, area could've been cleaned improperly but again this is 10 months later. Also, if customer was offended by my relationship with my employees I would like to give my apologies but some of my employees have been with me for over 13 yrs and that's the nature of construction workers. At no time was I ever directly rude to him or his neighbors.
