Mr. Nick Komninakis, proprietor of the company, gave a very fair price with a senior citizen discount for the complete revamp of the HVAC systems of our home as follows, which included quality equipment and expert labor:Downstairs zone...Installation of a York R410A 13 Seer 3.5 ton condenser and coil, TXV, York 80,000 Btu 95% furnace, removal of existing, flush line set, electrical modifications, all modifications to fit new equipment

Nick was very responsive to our phone calls and texts. He and his son James did an outstanding job as a team in a timely fashion. Also, they were courteous, reliable, friendly and customer oriented. Additionally, Nick guaranteed that he stands behind his work. He goes the extra mile to take care of his customers in doing additional work not in the contract at no further cost. I understand that Colossus HVAC also provides discounts for veterans. I recommend Nick and James and their Colossus HVAC Company very highly.

Comments: My experience with Colossus HVAC was one of the most positive service experiences from start to finish I have ever encountered as a homeowner. Learning that my entire heating system needed to be replaced was a scary prospect but from the first phone call the office staff was comforting and my first meeting with James, made me feel at ease. James’ professionalism and attention to every detail especially the financing challenges I knew I would be facing was tremendous and so much better than other companies I had investigated. They treated me with respect and care and followed through by answering questions via phone and email throughout the whole process. When the team arrived to put in my new system continued the impeccable professionalism. Their patience and knowledge were so impressive, Nicholas explained everything during the visit.They worked so hard for hours in my tiny basement and were continuously pleasant and helpful. After over 8 hours of work, Nicholas explained the entire system to me with a smile and answered every question with the expertise he has accumulated during his work in the industry. When the team left every question I had was answered and every piece of my home where they had worked was clear and clean. I can't say enough about this team and would recommend them to everyone.

Comments: In house temp reached 90 degrees A/C was blowing hot air.At 4:30PM when the outdoor temp was in the high 90s I called Colossus I am 83 years old with allergies and some breathing problems so I can't get along without A/C
I had called a company I have a service contract with They told me it would be at least a day maybe 2 before they could spare a tech to come out
Nicholas at Colossus took my call and said he would be here in 45 minutes Actually he arrived in less than 30. He checked the unit and told me it was a major problem requiring new parts and would cost $485.00 Naturally this shocked me but what choice did I have. He left to get the part came back in a half hour or so and within 20 min or so had it fixed and cool air circulating.
I live in an adult community which has a big sign at its entrance calling this a "luxury community for active senior adults"
I have lived here for 16 years and its status is far from luxurious
but I think that sign gives visitors and tradesmen the impression that we are all rich. I live alone and use only half the rooms on a small pension and social security so I am always struggling to make ends meet Had I a million dollars at the time of the A/C stopped running I would gladly have paid any amount to restore the cool air. Nicholas was friendly and competent but as a senior and I realize everything is so expensive now if the price was necessary I don't blame the repairman I doubt he is responsible for setting the price and I am grateful for the immediate response and working outside in brutal heat to repair the thing. One thing does bother me I had asked for an invoice stating the repairs Nicholas said the office was closed but he could have one e mailed to me the next day. I am still waiting for that

Nick the technician was friendly and professional, he had a Replacement capacitor on the truck and had it working in a half hour. Would definitely recommend them to anyone in the Toms River area.

Comments: BUYER BEWARE!!! The owner Mick is a very deceitful and words I can’t put on this review. Whatever you read on his reviews believe them. I partially blame myself for not reading the reviews. I hired him to change a 3 ton unit for downstairs and me being a lay person showed him the handler upstairs and he used that for the excuse of why he changed the wrong unit. Mick, who is supposed to be an “expert” in air conditioning, could just look at how the wires for the downstairs unit went to the downstairs and not the upstairs, but guess what he wouldn’t admit to making the mistake and wouldn’t rectify the situation. So what he did was take the unit that didn’t need to be replaced and used that for downstairs. Now, approximately after 7 days, that no longer works. So, out of curiosity, I called him up after a got a quote for $5300 from another HVAC company, and didn’t tell him and ask him “what he could you do for me to install another unit and he said the same price as before, $7200 plus taxes.” Not only is he a thief and a liar he’s just a plain*******! So don’t hire this guy if you want quality work and a decent price. Once again BUYER BEWARE!!!Belleville NJ

Comments: They need to stand behind their work. We paid them $8,000 to install a new heating system and move our central A/C. The A/C worked fine before they moved it. It didn't work after they moved it. I had to call another HVAC company to come and fix the broken pipe and refill the system with freon because Colossus said it couldn't be fixed. They offered to replace it at a cost of $5,900 . The system was only six years old!Edison NJ

Comments: DO NOT HIRE THEM!!! He took 6 days to come. Finally when he is able to come and check, he looks at his monitor and says the compressor has goes BAD and needs replacement and he is able to do the job for $3900. He also tells me that the Goodman compressor would not honor the warranty (the unit is less than 5 years old). For this visit he took $200 diagnosis fee. I then call a friend of mine who knows HVAC and he immediately says it is a simple capacitor issue that can be replaced from Amazon.com for $20. I immediately ordered it from Amazon (btw it is only $18) and replaced it on the compressor. This took less than 5 mins of my time with a flat screw driver. WORST diagnosis by Colossus. I hate when someone tries to swindle me. Lesson learned: DO YOUR HOME WORK FIRST!!! saved about $3882 (Colossus quote $3900 - Amazon order of DIY $18)West Long Branch NJ
