The contractor called to discuss the review and provided an explanation of the village inspection which makes sense as each village has different preference which he corrected to the village standard without a charge. While he cannot have foreseen the current problem, he offered a preventive inspection. I'll give prop for the good caring and good customer service.

Work Description: Gas Furnace - Install

Comments: I engaged Aria Heating and Cooling to scope, install a brand new furnace on one of my properties in NW Suburbs of chicago. The engaged person, Mike, was responsive through the proposal and estimation stages but the work product unfortunately didnt meet the quality. Upon completion of work, the county/village did an inspection and it failed to pass and Mike came in to perform a fix. The second inspection just barely passed and then after an year the furnace started having problems. The blower started making rough scratchy noises and again when called in for repairs, it took several hundred dollars to get it to turn on.

A few more months later a gas leak was detected and which was attributed to incorrect installation as a result of pipe not long enough. The firemen were called in and had to shut off gas and took another round of hundreds of dollars to get heat back on.

As of today, we are 18 months in and are having to spend over and over again on heating and furnace on a new install which is not what I expect. In hindsight, I would pay a few hundred more but get the right things installed with a more seasoned vendor

Update: After having discussed the concerns thanks for leaving us a follow up review. We apologize for any inconvenience, this is a brief explanation of the events we will follow up with a call. -We were hired to install a furnace in 2018, the inspector failed the inspection due to the condensate drain pipe not having a 2" air gap which is related to the AC evaporator coil and this code is not observed from every village. Even though it was not within our original scope we quickly came out and fixed at no charge. The 2nd call 07/2020 was related to the AC unit which was fixed. During that visit the customer complained that the blower on the furnace was making a noise, the technician found a 1 year old filter that was completely blocking air flow and a piece of cardboard in the blower wheel causing the noise, there was nothing wrong with the original installation of the furnace. The last issue with the gas smell in Dec 2020, we were never made aware of it and this was almost 2 years after the original install which could be a unrelated leak.

Comments: I contacted Aria through Networx on Friday of the Memorial Day weekend. Mike called me immediately and came out Sunday (on time) for a consult. I did tons of research beforehand. He gave us the best price, didn’t try to up sell, and gave us exactly what we wanted and needed. System was installed on Tuesday. He went out of his way to locate a specific air purifier we wanted bc his distributor stopped selling it, then personally dropped it off for the install. His installation team was respectful, efficient, clean and knowledgeable. We couldn’t be happier!
