Description: Mr. Ryan Bonner grew up in a family of painters. His stepdad, Mr. Gary Goree has painted all his life, and comes from a family of painters. Painting has always been a part of Ryan’s life, even since childhood. Ryan was raised in Colorado, where his stepdad started a commercial painting business called InterWest Painting and Decorating.
In 1988, the family relocated to Melbourne, Florida. Gary started a painting company called Envirocon Painting and Waterproofing. Ryan was initially employed by Gary, but later saw he saw fit to start his own company in 1994. He initially named the company Ryan Bonner Painting and Restoration. He started with his custom homes and small commercial, but as the projects kept getting larger so did his reputation.

He started doing more and more condominium balcony decks, industrial steel coatings, and acrylic coatings of all kinds -- he re-named his company to reflect his commercial emphasis. Bonner Coating Systems quickly became one of the largest, well known painting companies in Brevard and Indian River Counties.

They employed over 60 painters at one time. BCS had the opportunity to seal and paint numerous projects over the years. They sealed and painted many well known buildings such as the Kennedy Space Center Headquarters building, the Oceanfront Radisson Hotel in Indian Harbour Beach, the Rialto Place Office Tower in central Melbourne, and the Crawford Science Tower at Florida Tech University.

Over the years the company faced many obstacles. At the KSC, they faced compressed scheduling demands. Ryan’s decided to run 14 manlifts at one time with a crew of 30 employees on the project. They completed the daunting task in just 10 weeks. They caulked over 1000 Windows and painted the massive exterior.

On that same project, an environmental hazard called “PCB’s” was discovered. Ryan’s solution required the men to wear TYVEK (vinyl) suits in mid July in order to conform to the environmental safety demands. Although it was not easy, they readily complied with the client’s needs to get the job done. The company was formally awarded a certificate in recognition for safety in front of the entire SGS staff at Kennedy Space Center award ceremony. This was the first time a subcontractor was formally awarded such an honor. In the SGS Recommendation Letter it stated that the project was a
