Comments: Contacted Bo in March 2022. He came and gave us an estimate. He said he would have it completed by the end of March. He never came. After several texts and excuses as to why he didn't show up, he dropped off materials to complete the job. Little did we know then, but the materials were "leftovers". It is now February of 2023, Materials are still here. He never showed up to do the job. I 've texted him several times over the year, only to get more excuses. Last week I told him to come and pick up the materials. He gave me excuses. Don't even think twice about hiring him

Work Description: Replace roof, ridge vents & gutter guards on house and sheds

Comments: Job for $16,638 was also to include replacing bad decking before re-roofing, which he did on the water damaged panels. He did not replace the sagging / warped panels. He was to replace the ridge vent on the two-story shed and did not. The replacement ridge vent on the house was poorly installed resulting in damaged roof panels and subsequent leaks. Gutter guards improperly installed resulting in rain over-run and water seepage along foundation. No flashing was replaced, instead the old flashing was improperly caulked. Shed weather vane installed crooked. Shed paint scared by careless shingle removal. Repeated efforts for remedy were fruitless so after three months of lost effort and Fall rains on the horizon I sought bids to remedy the situation. One contractor recommended tearing it all off and starting again. Found MR Roofing who remedy the problems for $5,164. Complaints pending State Attorney's Office & Better Business Bureau. Have complete records and pictures. I guess I was sucked in by all the positive ratings... beware.
We put this roof on out of my own pocket did not asked for know money till job was done we went over job completely before we was paid and was not paid until job was completed this guy would ad things while we was doing the job and if the job was not right why would he pay everything was done in the contract the roof does not leak he was their the whole time and if a contractor is telling him to start over again he is ripping him off we have pictures of everything and don’t get this guy but we don’t work for free so he can go to the bbb and attorney general because we are not into complaints u can see for your self may be 1or2 out of 2000 customers but his is noncence

Comments: Approximately 2 years ago A Plus Handyman Services LLC came to my home to install a shower surround. They KNOWINGLY installed a surround that was too large and was damaged (large crack in it). I happen to be standing outside the doorway of the bathroom in the process of them installing it. They asked me to leave the area. What were they hiding? I learned a few days later exactly what they were up to. WRONG SIZE AND DAMAGED!! I filed a complaint through the local MAGISTERIAL DISTRICT JUDGE and he ruled in my favor. The judgment was for $2262.20. A plus (Bo Shreve) has only returned $1000.00. $500.00 Oct. 27th, 2020 and $500.00 January 6th, 2021. TO THIS DATE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING MORE. He lied to my attorney (at the time) telling her he had sent me an additional payment-WHICH HE DID NOT! He has totally ignored correspondence from the PA ATTORNEY GENERAL AND HAS EVADED THE LOCAL POLICE. That definitely says a lot! If he has nothing to hide then why is he not taking ownership of the situation!!??. I didn't even get a written estimate. I received only a final invoice.
My best advice- DO NOT EVEN LET HIM OR HIS COMPANY IN YOUR HOME TO GIVE YOU A WRITTEN ESTIMATE. SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF AUGUISH AND TURMOIL.

2. They did all electric in basement and install a sub panel.
3. Installed all new installation in ceilings and walls.

5. Installed new drywall,tapes, finished and painted.
6. Put all new baseboard and window trim.
7. Installed new crown molding and lighting.
8. Installed 8 new doors.
9. Installed new hard wood flooring that is waterproof.

Comments: I hired A Plus Handyman (Bo) to repair and subsequently replace a roof on a house I own in Harrisburg that had a roof leak. Each time he did work on the roof it leaked worse than it did before he worked on it. It continues to leak every time it rains. Finally, I gave up and got an independent roofing inspector to look at it, and he found many errors and deviations from industry standards in the installation. Specific issues include:

The rubber was not installed properly near the shingles and at the window.

The metal edging was not installed correctly.

The shingles were not installed correctly in all valleys and around all dormers.

The dormer flashing was installed incorrectly.

The rIdge caps were not right and the wrong color

I paid Bo (A Plus Handyman) over $8000 to replace the roof. The consensus of the inspector and three other roofing contractors I contacted to repair the roof, was that Bo's work had to be ripped off and the roof completely replaced. Given the quality of the work, I cannot trust A Plus Handyman to try to repair his work. I now have to start over and replace the roof after paying A Plus Handyman for a new roof.

I trusted this man to perform of the quality of work he professed to be capable of. The nicest thing I can say is he is incompetent. Conversely, he may have cut corners to inflate his profit. In either case I learned a costly lesson. You should avoid making a similar mistake. Stay clear of this guy.

He agreed to refund me $2500. I have been waiting more than half a year and have received half that amount.

Comments: Hired Bo off Craigslist. He seemed perfect for the work I needed done. He didnt complete the job, I overpaid him in good faith--and he was unprofessional. Cost me more money to hire someone new to finish the job. The only reason I didnt give 1 star for each category is because he did p of the work. Major pain in the ass to deal with---would never hire again to change a lightbulb--very disappointed--first time I was ever taken advantage of. Never again.

Comments: What we really liked about this team of workers was the flexibility in the hours they worked. They worked weekends and even late evening hours as per our request to get the job done quickly.
All the workers were very kind and friendly. They always left the work area clean and neat when they were done for the day. Any concerns I had regarding touch up issues were swiftly and efficiently addressed by the team leader, Bo. I would use their services again.

Comments: We had a water mark on the ceiling in a bedroom and thought we may have a roof leak. The mark was very close to a bathroom fan exhaust vent in our roof. It turns out the piping was cracked and needed to be replaced. Being a good, proactive contractor, they noticed that we would probably end up eventually having the same issue with a similar vent to the master bathroom. They replaced both and made sure the transitions were sealed properly so there would not be any more leaks. Great job!

Comments: Yesterday, Bo was out to repair a leak around my chimney. He identified a (new) issue with the brick and mortar while fixing the flashing that he, understandably, wasn't prepared to fix right away. We discussed price, what he needed to do, and he promised a return within 10 days to complete the work. He actually came back TODAY, the next day, to point pretty much the entire chimney, just in time for a few more days of rain! The final charges were pretty spot on the estimate provided - no new surprises and he actually threw in a few things he didn't have to do, for free. THANKS BO! You are my leaky roof savior!

Comments: The only major factor beyond anyone's control was weather. Scheduling got bumped a bit but all worked out fine once the guys arrived. An issue came up with our roof leaking right before they arrived to do the contracted work and they were willing to address the problem while they were here. Good job, looks good and we also were given guarantees. Will be looking forward to using them again in the future.
