Used Dryer Sheets Are Not Garbage

Don't throw away your dryer sheets once your laundry is done. Those fabric softener sheets prevent static cling - so they're great for dusting places that attract static electricity, like TV screens, blinds and car interiors. You can also use them to pick up cat fur and sawdust. Dampen a used dryer sheet and use it to remove soap scum from your shower.
Assuming you have chosen dryer sheets with a scent you like, they're great for deodorizing. Toss the used sheets in the bottom of your garbage can, in smelly shoes, in suitcases you're placing in storage, in your clothes closet or anyplace else you want to keep from getting musty. If you've got a pile of hand-sewing to get done, try running the needle and thread through a dryer sheet before you start. This will prevent tangling and help the needle and thread through the fabric more easily. Dryer sheets also repel bugs, although you might look kind of silly with a Bounce sheet sticking out of your socks!
One word of warning: Despite the wonderful ways you can reuse dryer sheets, there are plenty of articles on the Web about the potential dangers related to the chemicals used in dryer sheets and fabric softeners. Use your own judgment.
