Use Beer to Bag Bugs

Next time you have an unfinished can of beer, stop before spilling it down the sink. Beer can be used to attract - and thereby eradicate - garden pests. Take a shallow jar or tuna can and bury it in your garden until its opening is flush with the ground. Pour the beer into the can and check back the next day. You'll have caught and drowned those pesky slugs, snails and earwigs hanging around your garden. Empty the can, and repeat as often as you like. Another trick requires an old jar. Poke some holes in the lid that are about 3/8" big. Pour your leftover beer in the jar and close it. Put the jar in your yard or wherever you've seen bees but don't want them. They'll be attracted to the sugars in the beer and will fly into the jar. Luckily, they're not smart enough to get back out of those little holes.
