Turn Off the Water Before You Go Away

With the holidays rapidly approaching, we thought we'd give you a friendly reminder to turn off your water lines before you leave town. You never know when a pipe could burst or when a leak could start, and the last thing you want is to return home from Thanksgiving break to a flooded house. Turn off your main water line. If for some reason you don't want to turn off your main water line, at least turn off the water line that goes to your washing machine. It's one of the most common sources of household floods, and you don't want to pay for days of gushing water and flood damage repair.
