Tile Tip: Is it Possible to Remove and Reuse Old Tiles?

Reusing any kind of material is almost always a good idea, it's green and it saves you money! But at what point does the reclaiming process take more time and effort than it's worth?
A Hometalk user dipped into this topic recently, when they asked if it's possible to remove 16x16" tiles off of DensShield Tile Backer without destroying them. They are in the process of renovating their kitchen and wanted to move some tiles around to newly exposed floor areas.
Unfortunately, if the tiles were properly fastened down when they were installed, it's going to be nearly impossible to remove them intact according to Woodbridge Environmental.
Even though it's technically possible that with enough time and patience you might be able to remove the tiles, it's probably a better idea just to use a complimentary style to add into the mix.
