Start Your Seeds in Yogurt Containers

Remember the three Rs? Reduce, reuse, recycle. If you like yogurt, it's hard to reduce the number of plastic containers you bring into the house, aside from buying the bigger size yogurts. But you can still reuse those containers before recycling them. Clean them out, poke some holes in the bottom of the yogurt cups, and you've got the perfect little pots to start your seeds in (this works just as well with sour cream and cottage cheese containers). If your yogurt has a lid, use it as a tray to catch excess water. Once the seeds have grown a bit, you can take them outdoors and plant them in larger pots or in your garden. Then you can either reuse your yogurt pots again, or put them into the recycling bin.
