It's quite common for steam to set off lower-grade hardwired residential smoke detectors. The best two options for an over-active smoke detector are to either move it away from the source of steam, or to replace it with a higher quality smoke detector. Over time, exposure to moisture will make your smoke detector more sensitive. To avoid a constantly sounding smoke detector, your best bet is to move it to a place farther from the bathroom.
