Sharpen Shovels and Spades

Shovels get pretty dull after banging against rocks and dirt. Use a file to sharpen the end. Your back and your budget will thank you. While you're at it, scrub off the rust with a wire brush and rub on some oil for a sharp and sharp-looking digger.
