Wallpaper has made a big comeback recently and is uber hot. But, as ever, it does require special handling-especially when in need of repair. Nail holes and tears can ruin the look of even the nicest wallpaper, but they can be repaired, if you have leftover wallpaper. Clean the torn area and make sure that all the remaining edges are adhered well to the wall. It may be necessary to pull off a little more paper to accomplish this, remember to carefully rip off the edges, do not cut as you don't want any hard lines. Find the spot in your leftover wallpaper piece that exactly matches the area you need to repair. Your patch paper should be slightly larger than the repair zone and the edges should be torn, not cut. Apply wallpaper paste to your patch and apply to wall, using a wallpaper roller or rolling pin to make sure there are no air bubbles. Make sure that the patch position exactly matches the underlying pattern, rub away excess paste and let dry.
