Granite countertops are beautiful to look at and can stand up to a lot of use and abuse. But they are not totally impervious to everyday wear and tear. Red wine stains can be tricky to get out of many surfaces, including granite. Obviously, the sooner the wine is wiped away, the better. But if allowed to sink into the granite, it will stain. Mix a cup of molding plaster with just enough bleach to form a paste. Thoroughly clean and dry your surface and then spread the past over the stain. Leave on for 30 minutes and repeat as needed. This will usually take care of the problem. Photo credit: Granite Shield.
