Remove Crayon Marks from Wood

If your kids are old enough to hold a crayon, chances are your wood tables, walls, floors and chairs bear marks of their artistic talents. If you're not interested in preserving those early signs of genius, you can erase them easily using the regular culprits of household cleaning:
- Mayonnaise: Apply it to the crayon marks, leave it for 5 minutes, then wipe off.
- Baking soda: Mix with a little water to create a slightly abrasive paste, then rub off the waxy crayon.
- Vinegar: Dampen a cloth with this all-purpose cleaner and wipe the crayon away.
- Toothpaste: The grit of the toothpaste is helpful in erasing the waxy residue left by crayons.
- Baby oil: Generously apply baby oil to a rag and work it into the crayon marks. You may need to add a little elbow grease, too.
- Orange oil: Rub in and wipe off the marks.
- Mr. Clean Magic Eraser: While this isn't necessarily something found in your house on a regular basis, you may want to keep it handy. A Magic Eraser will remove crayon marks with an easy wipe or two.
