Plumbing Tip: Antacid for Drain Clogs

Unclogging drains can be a nightmare. It seems like an easy job but sometimes nothing seems to work. On top of the mystery of what exactly is causing the problem, there is the issue of the harsh chemicals involved in drain clearing as well. If you're like me, and don't have the budget call a Brooklyn plumber in the case of a clog, you'll want to find the easiest and safest way to get rid of it.
One simple and healthy method to clear up a clog is to drop a bunch of antacid tablets (like Alka-Seltzer) into the drain and pour down a cup of vinegar (via BuildDirect). Leave it in for a while then run the hot water. If all goes well, the fizzing action of the tablets will knock out the clog and you'll be back in action.
