Painting Tip: Can I Repaint My Oven?

There are many home improvement projects both big and small that you can "DIY". But at some point, you get right up to that line where you need to consider bringing in the pros to really make it happen.
On Hometalk this week, a member was having this kind of DIY versus professional debate. She was curious whether it was possible (and advisable) to repaint her oven to better match her kitchen.
The recommendation came back from the Hometalk community that any kind of DIY attempt would never come close to professional electrostatic painting. The finish would not look anything like the shiny original and the paint would be unlikely to withstand the heat. In this case, calling in a professional painter is the way to go.
