Workbenches aren't just for the garage. Consider building a workbench inside for arts and crafts. Drill supports, either at kid height or adult bar height, into the wall. Then mount an inch-thick board as long and wide as needed. You'll have a handy way to keep all your projects and supplies in one place -- and off the dining room table. You can even drill holes in the board to hold paint cups or other items. You can also mount a pegboard, like the one holding tools in your garage, to hold paintbrushes, crayon boxes, stencils and other craft items.
