Light up with Citrus Peels

It's citrus season, and it's cold. But what does one have to do with the other? Well, if you hang on to your clementine, orange, lemon and grapefruit peels, you will have excellent (and fragrant) kindling for your fireplace. Simply let the peels dry out for a day or two in a bowl or over a heater, and then use them to get your next fire going. The oils in the peel help them burn just as well as -- if not better than -- newspaper, and they reportedly leave behind less creosote. Plus, they smell great!
