It's Beginning to Look a Lot like Wedding Season: DIY Ideas

Aaah, I am such a moosh. In my perusal of DIY design blogs, I always stop and look at the amazing DIY wedding ideas. I have some favorites, which I am going to show you in a "link-o-rama" sort of fashion. Get out your Kleenex, folks. This Networx blog post is about to get mushy:
I love the vintage milk glass and moss centerpieces that Ruffled featured. I've always ascribed to the "a couple bottles of good vodka make the best wedding centerpiece" philosophy, but then I saw these. Paying thousands for flowers that will wilt in a few days always struck me as being pretty wasteful, but these center pieces can live for years and incorporate reused vintage glass vases. Incidentally, Ruffled now has a "classifieds" section where brides can buy/trade used wedding items.
Design Sponge posted the inspiration of wedding dcor inspiration: lighting one's outdoor wedding with vintage chandeliers. What romance! Edith Wharton would be proud, and the lucky couple can hang those chandeliers in their new home.
Ready Made featured the least pretentious of all weddings - a backyard affair that was completely handmade. Where can I start with its awesomeness? The groom built a platform for the ceremony complete with Marimekko-esque fabric frames, they strung $50 worth of paper lanterns above the yard, and the bride's friends made cupcakes with her for the party.
Forkable.com published a really thorough guide to catering your own wedding. They cover everything from setting up a bar to venue and food-safety considerations. Check it out - it could save you a lot of money.
