HVAC Tip: The Window Saver

A creeping cold sensation begins to seep into formerly comfortable rooms during these early days of the winter season. With the combination of dropping temperatures and inefficient windows, it's time once again for the dreaded draft.
Common solutions such as caulking and shrink kits kill drafts but also prevent the windows from being opened. Hometalk member Woodbridge Environmental has pointed out a novel product that combines the best of both worlds. The "Window Saver" kit uses magnetic strips to hold on Plexiglas panels that can be easily taken down when the window needs to be used.
It may be more expensive than some other options but can be reused year after year and offer the flexibility of both warmth and full usage of the window.
