Air leaks around the house are one of the biggest culprits behind hefty heating bills in the winter time. For anyone living in the 25 coldest cities in America (like #16, Minneapolis, Minnesota) there is even more cause for concern. If you're on a budget and need to keep out -15 degree weather without shelling out for a Minneapolis contractor to come re-insulate your home, what are you to do?
One easy way to shore up drafts is to fill an old pant leg with sand, seal it up and place it at the base of a drafty door or window to keep out the cold. It's a great way to both upcycle worn out jeans and save money at the same time.
