Did you (or your kids) get skunked? Then you know just how malodorous that skunky "perfume" is ... and how it can linger on your clothing for days.

Fortunately, there is a remedy.

A-1 Watkins, a Long Beach, CA exterminator, shared the secret to washing skunk spray out of clothes. His recipe? "Combine 1 quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide with 1/4 cup of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of liquid soap."

Combine in an open container and add to the washer while laundering the sprayed clothing. Never store this mixture in a closed container -- even for a short period of time -- because the oxygen it gives off may explode your container!

I hope that you will never get sprayed by a skunk, but if you do, at least you now know how to launder the smell from your clothes.
