Gardening Tip: Watering Indoor Plants

Not all of us are blessed with a green thumb. Have you brought home a beautiful house plant only to see it wilt and turn brown in a few months? Improper watering could be the source of your "black thumb". We’ve gathered three key watering rules to remember that can help prevent common problems like root rot and wilting.

1) Test the soil, if it’s dry to the touch, it’s time to water.
2) Soak the root ball completely - let water run out of the openings at the bottom
of the plant’s container. Be sure to empty out this excess
liquid.

3) On a regular basis, clean foliage with a damp cloth or spray the plants with a
light mist of water.
