Clear Clutter with Kid-Height Hooks

Photo of children's coat hooks by byrdiegyrl/Flickr.

Most of us never have enough room in the coat closet or hallway coat rack. How about making a bi-level coat rack by hanging hooks below the "grownup" coat hooks. If the coat is at kids' level, they might be more likely to hang their own coats and scarves (though we're not promising anything). In the kids' bedrooms, try a bright, kid-friendly coat rack with colorful pegs. You can buy them customized with the child's name or make your own if you are an ambitious woodworker. They can hang up coats, hats and toys, leaving more room on the floor to play (and leaving less clutter for you to see.)
