Automatic Lights

Lights can be a pain to remember to turn off when not in use, and that can cost you money. Automatic light switches used strategically can help to solve this problem. The majority of automatic lighting is controlled by motion-sensitive infrared switches, which can detect motion only within a specific range of distance. This type of switch has been used for exterior lighting for years, but electrical manufacturers have recently developed interior wall switches with similar technology. The wall switches can also be used as standard on-off switches if desired. Automatic lighting in the home can also be accomplished with task-specific plunger switches mounted in doorjambs, which operate the light fixture only when the door is in the open position, as is used to control closet or cabinet lighting.
