Activeion Cleaning Solutions

Can electrolysis and ionized water really kill germs? Yes.

If you are looking for the ultimate technology for eco-friendly and sustainable cleaning products, the ionator HOM more than fills the bill. The inonator HOM for home use, or the ionator EXP for professional use, is a completely non-toxic method of killing 99.9 percent of bacteria and works as a powerful dirt-lifter. The Activeion cleaning solution does not require a health warning and is safe around children or pets.

The best part is, all you need is water – soft, hard, tap, or well water for use with the hand-held sprayer/mechanism that ionizes the water. While this may sound too good to be true, the product, created and manufactured in Minnesota by Activeion, has been tested by independent labs and has won two prestigious European awards for innovation and environmental sustainability in 2010. The Activeion solution has met Environmental Protection Agency standards.

How does it work?

When the trigger of the hand-sprayer is pressed, the water flows through a water cell that applies a light electrical charge. The water then passes through an ion exchange membrane where the ionized water is separated into an oxygenated mix of positive and negative electrically charged “nanobubbles.” Before the water exits the nozzle, a slight electric field is applied allowing the water to carry the electric field to the surface you are cleaning, killing germs. If the water you are using does not contain enough minerals to interact with the system, the sprayer will glow red, however, this is unlikely. The ionized water is Ph neutral and leaves a light fresh-smelling odor. Also, with no need for cleaning solutions, fewer toxins are released into the air and water supply.

What germs does it kill?

To name a few, the Activeion cleaning solution will kill E. Coli, salmonella, staphylococcus Listeria, and H1N1 influenza A from hard surfaces when used correctly. On non-porous surfaces, spray the solution from a distance of 3-4 inches and allow for about 6 seconds before wiping with a dry, clean cloth. Do not spray the ionized water onto a cloth to clean; it will not work that way.

What can I clean with ionized water?

Besides countertops, you can clean most any surface, toilet, sink, ovens, windows, etc. It is not recommended for floors simply due to the amount of water that would be needed.

Activeion solution will also treat and clean fabrics including clothing, carpets, plush toys, and curtains.

The solution is good for cleaning bird cages. Birds can be extremely sensitive to chemicals, so this is a good option. Cleaning with ionized water is also ideal for those suffering from chemical sensitivity disorders.

The solution has not been tested on produce and is not recommended for that type of use.

Ionized water does not interact with any other chemicals (natural or man-made) and is non-flammable.

How much does the ionator HOM and the ionator EXP cost?

The ionator HOM for home use is around $179 and the ionator EXP $339, not including tax or shipping charges. The products can be purchased online and at some retailers. The product comes with a rechargeable battery that with normal household use lasts approximately five years. The battery cannot be replaced. The HOM comes with a one-year warranty, the EXP with a two-year warranty. While the cost may seem pricey, you also would not need to buy any other cleaning solutions for several years. Also, it’s hard to put a price on the health and ecological benefits.
