Comments: This contractor was prompt to my concern and explained what I knew was needed. The unit I had came with the house when I purchased it last December(1918) It needed over haul service then but other things prevented. It finally began making noise ,not cooling and I had repairs completed in Feb. The price as with all contractors is expensive and not much difference between them. I purchased a 3 ton 15 seer unit. It with proper care should out last me over time.and give the next owner some good service . The A.R.S. contractor was polite and trained in his skills.I have no complaints about their service.

Comments: Tech cleaned unit said it needed a part. Ok put it on. came back said it needed feon. ok put it in. Came back around said it needed something else. Now if i was told it needed all this when he first came to me after cleaning but by selling something and coming back to sell something else 3 different times just smelled like an upselling scheme thing to me. Work Description: I had called my current HVAC maintenance contractor because unit was not heating above 61. A relatively short time later the tech showed up. He said the fuses on the heat strips were blown and needed replacing ($145!) and that the blower motor bearing were going bad and the motor could go at any time (offered replacement motor at a cost of $750 which I declined). Agreed to fuse replacement, but as paperwork was being done, I noticed that the unit was still blowing actual cold air and called this to the tech's attention. He started further diagnostics and determined that my thermostat was bad and needed to be replace at a cost of $250. After that unit seemed to functioning normally.
Through Networx, got in touch with 1st Choice Contractors to get a second opinion on major expense of a blower motor. Chris came out and checked my unit. He found that other than some age issues (10 years), my unit was functioning properly and that there was no need to replace the blower motor (saving me $750 for the time being). He did suggest that we might want to consider replacing the unit in the next few years for energy efficiency.

Work Description: Mike Miller and his guys from First Choice Contractors installed 2 Bryant Carrier Gas Pack systems for my home. The old systems were near 11 years old and were diagnosed with large repair bills. Mike made contact with me and we discussed what i wanted and how I wanted to acquire the Gas Pack systems. 2 new systems were needed.
Comments: Thanks also to SCE&G and their program of allowances for installation of new energy efficient HVAC systems. I provided info to Mike to give to SCE&G and 20 minutes later Mike called back and advised I was approved for the 2 systems. We met on Friday to assess the old systems and evaluate what was needed to prepare for the new installation. I was advised they would arrive Monday morning at 9:00 A.M. And they arrived Monday morning promptly at 9:00 A.M. with a trailer load of new HVAC equipment. Then 4 trucks showed up and each of the Crew had an assigned task of removing an old system and installing a new system. The system in the attic had to be carried down 3 levels to reach the outside. Then the new unit was placed in an open area of the attic that made it easier for the homeowner to get around and for the service technician to access the unit for annual Spring and Fall checkups. All old equipment and duct work was removed and hauled off. The new units were installed and connected with all the work being completed by 4:00 P.M.In addition the Bryant Carrier supplier came to assist in setting up the thermostats.
